Standupforanimals.net’s mission is to inspire it’s users to share information and ideas which will reduce the euthanasia of pets, and create more humane conditions for shelter pets, nationwide throughout the United States of America.  The following guidelines in their entirety constitute the Privacy Policy pertaining to Standupforanimals.net and its contributors which include All About the Animals and Ted Sorich of Stand Up for Dogs (the Platform owners) and Scott Merritt (the Platform Developer), outlining how we get and use information about you, who we share it with, and how you can control your privacy settings.

By "information" we mean both personal information provided by a user and such information obtained from a user interfacing with the site.

To run our service and show you relevant content, we need to know a little about you and your interests. Here we outline what information Standupforanimals.net collects, and how we collect it.

When you create and account and subsequently sign into our platform, all your posts, comments, messages to other users of the Platform, and site activities are then tied to this account.

a. General settings

Your Standupforanimals.net posts are set to public by default. You can edit your posts to make them accessible only to other Standupforanimals.net users.  The messages you send via the Platform messaging system are not accessible to the public or other users with the exception of the intended recipient.

b. Email settings

If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from Standupforanimals.net or All About the Animals going forward, you may opt out of receiving these by clicking “unsubscribe” on any such email.

We will comply with your request(s) within 10 working days. Please also note that if you do opt out of receiving marketing-related emails from us, we may still send you important administrative messages (such as updates about your account or service changes), and you cannot opt out from receiving these messages.

c.  Opting in and out of Standupforanimals.net subscriptions

Select topics, counties, or shelters of interest to you to add to your subscriptions list to receive email notifications of posts regarding these (you may choose weekly or monthly update emails).

You will see the option to "Subscribe" by clicking on a link to any given topic, county or shelter.

To unsubscribe, click the "Subscribe" button a second time.

  1. Accessing or deleting your information

If you want, you can ask us for the information we have about your account and even ask us to delete it.

If you would like to review, correct, update, suppress, or delete information that has been previously provided to us by you, you may log in to your account, click on “Menu”, “My Profile”, and then edit or delete the information as desired.  You are able to click on a comment or post you have made, then click on “edit” or “delete”.

You can also contact us at the email address or mailing address listed at the bottom of this privacy policy and ask us to specify what information we have about you and to delete certain information about you from our records. Please let us know what information you would like us to remove from our databases or otherwise let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of your personal information. For your protection, we may only implement requests with respect to the personal information associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.

Please note that we may need to retain certain information for mandatory record keeping purposes and/or to complete any transactions that you began prior to your request. There may also be residual information that will remain within our databases and other records, but such residual information will no longer be tied to your identity.
